There are lots of amazing things to do after school at Metro! Athletics are important to our students and fifth through eighth graders can try-out for basketball, soccer, volleyball, dance, cheer, and cross-country teams. We compete against other neighboring NHA schools in games and tournaments.
Each year, Metro offers several clubs. In the past we have had a Walking Club, Art Club, a Chess Club, and a Spanish Club. The number and type of clubs vary each year depending upon teacher and parent interest and commitment.
Metro’s School Board funds a variety of free activities for the students throughout the year. Last year, there were over 30 activities offered. Activities ranged from educational to just-for-fun. Some of the activities offered were an African drum workshop, a live reptile program, arts and crafts activities, The Flying Aces Frisbee Team, a Starlab (Detroit Science Center), a crime lab (Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum), a Native American Program and a visit from The Rock N’ Roll Canines.
