"As a parent, what I like most about Metro Charter Academy is that it is a moral-focused school. The teachers and staff care about the school and its environment.  Values and morals are continually reinforced and instilled into the students through the daily morning assemblies. Additionally, the teachers and staff have a genuine interest in challenging students to always be their best and to do their best.

Our son has attended Metro from Kindergarten through 3rd grade and looks forward to coming to school each day.  His favorite things about Metro are his teachers, playing with his friends at recess time and attending the after-school programs."
Leslie Lyles, Metro Parent

“Our son attended our local school district's public school for pre-k and kindergarten. We had repeated issues with that school. He was not enjoying his educational experience and he was too young to start off his education negatively, we needed something different, something better. We thought there were no other options. We looked at private schools and financially is wasn't a possibility. When we found Metro is seemed like a good "fit." We managed to get into Metro Charter Academy from their waiting list and were notified the second day of school that there was an opening in a First grade class. Our son started 1st grade here last year in 2008. We believe the moral focus curriculum and attention from his teacher made the difference that was necessary. His grades got better and better, his esteem about being a student, and learning improved. He became more positive and enjoyed school more. We have frequent communication in person and via email with his teacher(s), and the staff at Metro. We like that they have been open to feedback, and one concern, as well as sharing our son’s achievements. In both First, and now in Second grade, our son's teachers have seen his potential and have given him the gentle push to excel, and he has rising to that challenge and is doing excellent academically! We also like the fact you can access your child's academic success on-line as often as you like, and also receive mid-semester "reports." We're several months into his second grade and we're still delighted with his continued academic success and good moral focus. I love the diversity of Metro Charter Academy a well. Metro also offers fun and educational after-school activities. I feel Metro is continually striving to provide a safe, well rounded atmosphere for my son to learn and grow.”
The Carter Family

“I find the school environment to be caring and family oriented. The teachers and administrators want our input as parents. My concerns have been addressed in a timely and appropriate manner. I like the school and would recommend it to others.”

“My grandchildren have been attending Metro Charter for several years. Each year they have improved in the academic studies and have received various awards for their achievements. I am very proud to tell everybody that they attend Metro Charter. The staff is always very courteous in dealing with my grandchildren. In addition the halls and class rooms are extremely clean and neat and all times.”

“I have two children, the youngest attends Metro in the 1st grade. My oldest started in Kindergarten when Metro opened in 2000 and graduated in 2009.

I feel that Metro offers a safe, challenging and morally focused environment for my children to learn in. The communication between parents, teachers and staff at Metro is unbeatable. Parents feel welcome in the school and the classrooms at Metro, it is outstanding!

I have received several positive comments from my oldest daughter's teachers, all in regards the students that came from Metro. The comments are, "The students that have arrived from Metro have all shown to be extremely intelligent, self motivation and are very well behaved." I do not think that I could have made a better choice for my children. One of the teachers mentioned that she emailed Metro's principal to compliment him on the students.”
